Date A point or period of time associated with an event in the lifecycle of the resource 1910 Title A name given to the resource Harry O'Khiro and family Description An account of the resource This gelatin dry plate negative was taken by in the Aultman Studio (Trinidad, Colo.) by Oliver E. Aultman (1867-1953) in 1910. The Aultman Studio register identifies the individual who ordered the portrait as Harry O'Khiro. It should be noted that names recorded in the Aultman Studio register may be misspelled or inaccurate. The image depicts a group composed of a man, woman, and baby. They are likely a family. The woman wears an overcoat, a long, knitted scarf, a long skirt, and a button-up blouse. She stands on the left side of the image. The baby sits in a wicker bassinet in the center of the image. She wears a frilly bonnet and is covered by a blanket. The man stands on the right side of the image. He wears a three-peice suit and tie. A pocket watch chain hangs from his vest. He rests his left hand on the back of the wicker highchair. A studio back drop hangs behind them. An oriental rug lays at their feet. The Aultman Studio (Trinidad, Colo.) operated out of Trinidad from 1889-2000. Oliver E. Aultman founded the studio and was its chief photographer until his son, Glenn Aultman (1904-2000), took over the business in the early 1950's. Otis Aultman (1874-1943), Oliver's younger brother, also operated at photography studio in the Trinidad area from 1892-1907. Several of his images are included in the Aultman Studio collection. While the Aultmans mostly produced studio portraits of Trinidad's residents, they also shot images of landscapes, streets scenes, mining operations, buildings, and local events.
