              <text>The instructions for these hand knitted swatches indicated a technique and size parameters. I had to research the technique, practice the skill and design, knit and write a pattern for each swatch. The techniques shown here are smocking, elongated stitches, slip stitch pattern, Bavarian traveling stitches, mosaic knitting, charting a complex pattern, intarsia and duplicate stitching. The yarn used was Cascade 220. </text>
