Friday, Feb. 18 Informal Prom, Schroeder hotel. &#039;Nat&#039; Voge, Surprise Queen of Royalty, Likes Kay Kyser flashing, rose satin figure making the most of captivating dance music. With a rich low voice, Nathalie has become the school&#039;s unofficial blues singer. Whether at work or sipping the popular coke, the musical nurses get together and listen to her renditions of popular songs. Nat has not limited her vocal abilities to singing, however. At present she is practicing for a one-act play, &quot;No Banners Flying,&quot; which the Drama club will present on Feb. 22. Her present ambition is to become an air hostess. M.U. Alumnae Hold Meeting at Astor, Feb. 12 Log Cabin Theme to be Carried Out at Party in Honor of Lincoln&#039;s Birthday Lincoln&#039;s birthday, Feb. J.2, also marks the birthday of the first mass organization meeting of the newly organized Marquette University Alumnae association. More than one hundred reservations have been made for a luncheon to be held Saturday at the Astor hotel. In keeping with the theme of the day, a miniature log cabin will form the centerpiece on the luncheon table, and the places will be marked with log cabin cards, which will later be used as bridge tallies. The high scorer at each table will be awarded bridge cards, printed in blue and gold and initialed with the letters M.U. The Rev. Raphael C. McCarthy, S.J., president of Marquette university, will be the speaker and guest of honor. Receiving the guests will be Constance Brielmaier, temporary chairman of the association and general chairman of the party; Mrs. Glen Tucker, Catherine Croke, Eunice Murphy, Fannie Grossman, Margaret Gramling, Rosemary Kleczka, Helen Kuhnmuench and Dr. Mary Neville. Planning the decorations are Mrs. Thomas Whelan, Mrs. Roland Adams and Elizabeth Bernhard. Mrs. John Jepertinger, Jr., and Mrs. John Friar are on the finance committee and the committee of arrangements includes Mrs. Bert Schoenkerman, Mrs. Sidney Lechleidner, Ruth Smith, Gertrude O&#039;Neil, Helen Dempsey, Betty Stemler, Bernice Young, Ethel De Marsh, Dorothy Dawe, Hermine Weber, Catherine O&#039;Grady, Helen Lawler, Mrs. John Forrestal, Margaret Boemer, Melba Isakson, Viola Schmidt and Catharine Sheedy. Out of the dim corridors in the Marquette College of Nursing stepped a brown eyed, laughing, white-capped nurse. The glamour of a prom, when Kathryn Doherty will step into the blazing light as the partner of co- chairman Gerald Foley, was far surpassed in grandeaur by the utter simplicity of the quiet hospital setting. Kay Doherty, with a roll of dark brown curls bobbing beneath her starched cap, had a hard time looking solemnly dignified. The sparkling Irish colleen, born in Milwaukee, is thoroughly excited over the coming proms, though this is not the first time she is a member of royalty. Kathryn reigned as prom queen in her junior year at St. Clara&#039;s academy, Sinsinawa, where she attended high school. Gowned in wine colored moire with gold accessories, Kay will show no signs at the formal Prom that she is crazy about playing a hard game of basketball. Her one big disappointment at St. Joseph&#039;s is that there are not enough girls to form a team. Asked if she had any hobbies, Kathryn grinned and admitted she kept scrapbooks &quot;of everything from recipes to clippings of Will Rogers.&quot; Harmony, which describes her to a &quot;T,&quot; happens to be one of the things Kay can&#039;t help, and as an alto she and the rest of the nurses&#039; quartet provide stiff competition for the new radios installed in the nurses&#039; home. Active in dramatics both at high school and at Edgewood where she attended college for a year, Kathryn copped the leading role in the play &quot;Mimi Lights the Candle,&quot; which was presented Dec. 14 by the Drama club of St. Joseph&#039;s hospital. Like all true students of Marquette, Kathryn hates to get up mornings, and sets the alarm 15 minutes ahead so that it can be turned off to give her a few laat winks. On duty till 7:15 p.m., Kay admits she gets pretty tired sometimes. In keeping with her nationality, her favorite color is green. Her infatuation for the moment is those huge fuzzy angora mittens.
