Memphis World: Color Runs Rampant At 13th SIAC Meet

Description

Coke"-stands, cigarettes, women, and the cool wintergreen grass surrounding the oval-shaped Atlanta University Bowl formed the setting of the 13th annual SIAC track and field meet. All the colors of the rainbow were dotted in and out of this picturesque scene here in the "Gate City." The configuration of colors ran from the bright yellow uniforms of the Xavier University Thinclads to the crimson red ensemble of the Clark College Cindermules. The crimson and cream knit of an occasional frat sweater the bright orange of a skirt, and the outrageous plaid of the "bop" cap could be easily seen glaring down from under the poplar trees on the hills surroundings the cinder path.
