Description
Native American (Plains) women cook outdoors over a fire. One woman sits on a blanket and rolls a piece of dough with a jar. Another woman stands nearby. The woman, who sits, wears a knit hat and a dress; the other woman wears beaded moccasins, a dress decorated with elk's teeth, a concha belt, and a hair pipe necklace. Two tins and a wooden pail are near the fire, they read: "Swifts Jewel a Shortening Made from [?] Vegetable Fat and Oleosteamine Swift & Co U. S. A.", "Morrell's Snow Cap Lard", and "Gillen's Candies Gillen & Romey Good Candy Makers Lincoln, Neb."
