<dcterms:description><![CDATA[A pre-1752 French built wooden (oak?) knitting frame in two sections: the base and the unit itself. The base contains a weavers seat and four treadles. Two pivots under the seat connect via leather straps, to a wooden cam at the rear of the frame that controls needle movement. One controls sinkers and the other pivots under the seat and controls supports which release the pressure bar. It uses bearded needles.]]></dcterms:description>
