In the two towns of Lome and Keta German deaconnesses have taken over the running of the Mission's Girls' Schools and started kindergartens as well. A number of former black pupils assist them. They also run societies for unmarried young women to deepen their Bible knowledge. Naturally, in these institutions womens' handwork is given its proper place, and what the girls and young women achieve does the deaconesses and their pupils credit. The Deaconesses express their satisfaction with their pupils every now and again in the way which is familiar in Germany - they make an excursion with them. Recently the members of the Young Womens' Society could were able to make their first railway journey from Lome to Anecho on the new Togo Railway. They were taken free of charge - the management of the railway had sponsored the journey."</text>
