Parked in front of the building is a 1940s vintage automobile, possibly a 1941 Chevrolet or Buick. In the foreground are tracks of the Chicago &amp; North Western Railroad. The three-story main section of the plant had been a knitting mill prior to Heresite‚Äôs founding in 1935. On the south side is a lower section that was added sometime after July, 1943. (On July 21 the firm announced the planned expansion and reported that a wartime application for necessary construction materials was pending before federal officials.) The company, which is still in operation, manufactured industrial coatings, synthetic resins, and other products.
