Hemstitch cloth in linen and cotton were also available to attach thread in the pre-punched holes. These examples were found in a box of crochet collectibles my mother gave me.The 10 X 14 inch shirt box with a department store label was full of crochet accouterments. All neatly placed in 4 smaller boxes, the contents told the story of one anonymous woman who derived much pleasure from many long, relaxing hours of crochet! I have kept the box intact since I received it in 1981; and will never part with it. She is an anonymous woman who nevertheless became familiar to me by the passionate connection to her crochet belongings!
