<dcterms:description><![CDATA[A historic Wilcox and Gibbs sewing machine, produced sometime in the early-1900s. This machine was a one-thread “Chain-Stitch Machine”, a selling point for the Wilcox and Gibbs company. These machines were cheaper than their competitors like Singer, and were popular for making things like feed sacks, which would later be taken apart to be re-used. Wilcox and Gibbs produced both hand-crank and electrical sewing machines, this is an example of an electric model. ]]></dcterms:description>
