A letter addressed to the chairmen of all Red Cross branches was mailed yesterday by Mrs. George Phillips, chairman of military relief, Spokane chapter, thanking the branches for their splendid work. In commenting on work to be done by the branches and auxiliaries in her letter Mrs. Phillips said: ''Most of our future work will of necessity be refugee work, although we must remember that a great deal of knitting and sewing must still be done for the comfort of our boys overseas and still in our camps. We should keep the mental picture always before us of the millions of orphan children, helpless women and wounded men of the war-stricken districts. I know that the women who have responded so generously in the past will clearly see the necessity of sharing in this activity, arid cheerfully accept the work found necessary, to submit to the branches." Mrs. Phillips also states that having finished all surgical dressings work, that department is planning to help in the refugee work, or some other line of Red Cross activities. The board of directors of the Red Cross will hold its regular monthly luncheon in the east banquet hall annex Davenport hotel, on Friday, December 13, at 12 o'clock.</text>
