<text>Dahlen Breaks Ankle;W.S.C. Football Star.; DAHLEN BREAKS ANKLE; W. S. C. EOOTBALL STAR Mentor Dahlen has a broken ankle, and the speed with which it knits will determine whether or not the former North Central star will flash at quarterback again for Washington State college this fall. Dr. C. C. Gaard reported today that the fracture is not an especially bad one. Dahlen suffered the injury to his right leg when he slid into, home while playing for the Buick baseball team against Newby's Service team at Underhill a few days ago. At first it was thought the injury was a sprain, but X-ray pictures revealed the break. "Dahlen should be able to start strengthening up his ankle for hard football playing in about six weeks," said Dr. Gaard. "The break is not really serious, but of course will make it necessary for him to wear a cast and use crutches for several weeks." Football practice is to start September 10. Dahlen was alternate quarterback for the Cougar Coast champions of 1930, and started in his junior year last fall. He wasn't in school during the past spring, but plans to return in September.</text>
