Two instructors accompanied the girls. On Thursday they were guests of the Troy laundry. Their visit made the 14th year that seniors of the home economics department of the state college have been guests of the Troy laundry. Other Portland visits of inspection included a dairy, woolen mill, knitting mill, hospital, department store, baby home, bakery and public market. Girls Luncheon Guests The instructors, Miss Margaret Fincke and Miss Gertrude Strickland, and the girls were guests at luncheon at the Troy dining room Thursday noon. Later they attended a demonstration of Dri-Cess, a new method for making washable fabrics water-repellent and stain- resistant Percy Allen, president of Troy laundry and E. B. Barker, manager, explained the method. At conclusion the visitors were taken through the plant and saw work in operation.
