<text>130 Jan. 15 Monday 8:50 P.M. My dearest darling: This has been one of my low days - partly due to the fact that I didn't sleep well last night, and have been restless all day. I'm a little bit worried about Wendy's cold - tho she seems to be sleeping better tonight. I hope she's well enough to go to Dr. Lusiguans for her check up tomorrow. Thursday I hope to take her to Fort Ord for a shot. This morning I got #100, plus clippings and some of the Christmas cards. The envelope of flower seed packets I sent you yesterday was returned, marked ‘unmailable’ After her nap, I bundled Wendy up, and we went over to spend the afternoon with Marge and Pat. The babies entertained themselves eating crackers and Pat whacked Wendy on the head with a toy log. She forgave him smilingly thru her tears tho. Marge and I knit and gossiped. I'm reading Fawlers ‘Goodnight Sweet Prince’ (John Barrymore) and enjoying it. Tho the frequent [pg 2] mentions of New York make me feel a bit nostalgic. The men were on a 15 mile hike today at 120 clip plus K rations, and they’re all blistered tonight. Half of them begged off and went to Sick Bay. This rugged life isn't making much of a hit. I've finished Fleisher's ‘Volcanic Isle’ and will send it on to you next week. I found it very encouraging - perhaps too much so. I’d like to know what some of his current opinions are. I miss you so much darling - sometimes - like now - I feel as if I just can't go on without you. This separation is so hard - at time piercingly cruel - Make the months go fast, so that we may be together again, darling - anywhere, just as long as we’re together. Your always loving- Bobby 15/43 Language School commencement this afternoon - Invited Charley and Helen Frankel, and George Watanabe to a waffle supper a week from Sunday. 15/44 Dinner at Howard's - Poker session a the Mays with the Gellats and Fran</text>
