<dcterms:description><![CDATA[This shows a family group in front room or parlor of Crees House. Room is richly decorated with wallpaper and borders on walls and ceiling, as well as carpet over carpet on floor. On left side of room are a painting, over a mantle [?] and a fully curtained window. Before these are a chair and plant stands and table with potted plants. On the left of the back wall is arch with portieres, through which can be seen pillows on a bed [?]. The center of the rear wall is stove pipe and framed photograph of two boys. To right on rear wall may be another doorway, to the right of which is a framed picture; on the right wall are framed photographs. In the right corner is a decorated Christmas tree, at the base of which is a figure of a lamb. Beside it is a spindle-legged table, covered with a crocheted cloth, upon which is an oil lamp, a miniature chair [?], and a toy animal in front of a fence gate. Two rocking chairs are on either side of the stove. Seated in the left chair is an older man, with vest, watch chain, and jacket, with a boy in a middy suit on his left knee, upon which is a book [?]; the boy has a top with string in his hands. Behind them is a younger woman. Seated on a chair before [blocking] the stove is a middle-aged woman, who is looking at a book which a younger man in the right rocker has open in his lap. Another woman is standing before the tree with hands into the tree; a bough of mistletoe is hung from center of ceiling.
