<dcterms:title>Hand Knitted Mosaic Star Blanket for a Dog</dcterms:title>
<dcterms:description>I made this blanket for my dog, who loves beautiful handmade things. How do I know this? I know because he has been getting up to cuddle on the things I am making for others -- especially the blankets I have been making recently.

This blanket is made in mosaic knitting, using a sport to DK weight washable wool with a small amount of acrylic -- Ella Rae Eco Tweed in four colors -- orange, blue, dark green, and bright yellow green. I figured the texture would make the blanket a little more durable and less likely to be damaged when he rucks it up to make himself comfortable. The first time I "tried it on" him -- see photo -- he gave a little sigh of contentment. It was very sweet. I started it in late 2025 and finished it in June of 2026.

I have been looking for a quilt book I know I have around here, and that I have had for many years, with lots of photos of beautiful and exquisitely made quilts. But one quilt in the book really stood out and stayed in my memory -- it was a very simple, small, hand-stitched scrap quilt, made by a man for his dog.

I have always remembered that quilt over all the others in the book, and I was inspired by it, in part, to knit this quilt for my dog. I hope he feels like a real star, because he is.

The pattern is called "Sleeping Under the Stars" by the designer Amy Marie -- she creates a lot of wonderful mosaic knitting patterns, and I found this one for sale on Ravelry. </dcterms:description>
