This object is the April1899 edition of Home Neelework Magazine (Volume I, Number 2). The quarterly periodical is devoted to art needlework, crochet, knitting and home decoration. It sold for 10 cents a copy or 25 cents per year by subscription at this time. The pink and purple front cover features an illustration of a woman doing needlework within the boudaries of an ovular frame decorated in a pattern of leaves and roses.In addition to the articles, there are several black and white photographs inside and several advertisements in the last pages of the periodical.Printed on cover (top to bottom) black ink: "Vol. 1 No. 2 APRIL 10 Cents a Copy. / HOME NEEDLEWORK / MAGAZINE/ 1899 / FLORENCE PUBLISHING CO. / FLORENCE, MASS. / Issued Quarterly, at 25 Cents a Year."
