Description
Image of a woman in white dress and dark jacket walking along the northeast side of Western Knitting Mills. Chapman Lake, also known as Chapman Pond, can be seen to the left. The Western Knitting Mills factory was built in 1896 and produced knitted goods until 1939. The building was later owned by the McAleer Manufacturing Company, later known as the Higbie Manufacturing Company, and then ITT Higbie. In 1994 the Rochester Mills Beer Company restored the building and it now operates as a restaurant and brewery. Addressed to Mr. And Mrs. Julius Schultz of Capac, Michigan from Nellie.
