Description
Lu tells Herman that she is sending him socks that she knitted and includes a poem about socks that she heard a soldier wrote to his wife. She is also enclosing three rolls of film for a Brownie no. 2 camera and some ginger snaps that mother made. George and mother went to the doctor and should both be better soon. They had dinner with the Bests and all week papa has been working in the tobacco fields. She asks a few questions, including whether Herman has any special friends and if he's been in an aeroplane yet. Walter left on Saturday to go to Miami, where he will be learning to fly.
