Original program for news of the week of April 19, 1931 at the Strand Theatre in Ipswich, Massachusetts. The cover features an announcement about Charlie Chaplin’s film, City Lights.
The second page includes an advertisement for the April 19-21 showings of City Lights. Charlie Chaplin stars in this romantic comedy about “that forlorn figure with the baggy trousers.”
Page three features two film advertisements. Beau Ideal is scheduled for April 22. Frank McCormick, Ralph Forbes, and Lester Vail star in this war drama about an American who joins the French Foreign Legion. The second advertisement is for the April 23 and 24 screenings of A Connecticut Yankee. Will Rogers, William Farnum, and Frank Albertson star in this romantic comedy.
The final page of the program includes an advertisement for the April 25 showing of The Conquering Horde. Richard Arlen and Fay Wray co-star in this drama filled with “laughs knitted into thrilling romance of the west.” This page also includes an announcement about theatre’s “best pictures, the best in sound, [and] the best of everything.”
