Annotation translation: [On the reverse of the card there stands printed:] "The fate of a chinese girl is sad. But the fate of her blind sister is terrible. Many blind girls are either poisoned or buried alive by their relatives or they are sold to wicked women who subject them to a life of shame. The missions have taken up this problem and founded asylums for the blind where they are cared for and taught braille, knitting, straw-weaving and other occupations. The home for the blind in Hong Kong, run by the Berlin Womens' Association, is one such asylum. Many of these unhappy creatures have found a true home there - but also a Father with a heart for them.

Annotation: "[Auf der Rückseite der Karte steht gedruckt:] Wenn das Los der Chinesenmädchen überhaupt ein sehr trauriges ist, so ist das Geschick ihrer blinden Schwestern ein furchtbares. Viele blinde Mädchen werden von den Ihrigen entweder vergiftet, lebendig begraben oder an schlechte Weiber verkauft, die dieselben zu einem Leben der Schande aufziehen. Die Mission hat hier helfend eingegriffen und für solch arme Geschöpfe Asyle gegründet, wo sie gepflegt, im Lesen und Schreiben der Blindenschrift, wie auch im Stricken, Strohflechten und auch anderen geeigneten Handarbeiten unterrichtet werden. Ein solches Asyl ist das Blindenheim auf der Insel Hongkong, welches von dem Berliner Frauenverein unterhalten wird, und in welchem schon viele dieser unglücklichen Geschöpfe nicht nur eine traute Heimat, sondern auch das treue Vaterherz Gottes gefunden haben."
