Title

Paternal grandparents

Description

'In my early years, I lived with them on their farm in Dartmouth. It was a six-acre farm. Produced produce, mostly purchased by Jewish merchants on South Water Street. They instilled in me ethics and compassion for people. They only spoke Portuguese. We were a very close-knit family. We loved music and had great camaraderie. Pictured: Henry Pinto (he was orphaned in Brava, Cape Verde), my grandmother Etelvina Rocha do Carmo, my father John do Carmo, Jr., my grandfather John do Carmo, Sr., and my aunt Aurora. Location: 323 South 1st Street.'
