Description
This tan pullover vest was worn by Mr. Box when he made flutes. It was also worn by him when he visited the World War II Memorial in Washington, D. C. in 2007. He was a member of the first group of veterans from Buncombe County, NC to fisit the memorial. The donor stated that he was most likely the first Southern Ute veteran to visit it as well. HCC has images of Mr. Box's visit, including several in which he is wearing this vest. The visit also detailed in an article in the Asheville Citizen Times, 9/29/2007. It was made for him by his wife, Diane Box.
