Maria C. Vallejo: A fancy set of coasters that protects the furniture from water rings. My aunt Carola brought these to us, made by her on one of her trips to visit us. Not only was beauty the object of family crochet pieces, but also important were their practical aspects. These coasters kept the condensation left by cold drinks from leaving an undesirable mark of neglect on furniture.
