Description

A crocheted lace corner, possibly intended as a tea towel corner insert. The piece features filet crochet in a geometric flower pattern, and has a border made up of a series of stacked squares forming repeated triangular peaks. There appears to be the beginning of an additional picot embellishment on the border, but it ends after the first two triangular sections. There is some light discoloration on the item, and some light fraying in several spots.

A Note from the Contributor

Maria C. Vallejo: Corner (English), Esquina (Español), Coin (Français). Crochet speaks to all of us who love it, appreciate it and take care of it. I would like to believe that any one of us who is getting ready to start a tablecloth, a bedspread, or embellish a sheet would begin by making a sample that will take us to turn the corner. Here is the corner that leads the way to the straight path, the sides of the project.

Condition

Fair; some light staining and loose threads
