Both Mabel Massey and Amy Moir were important Broomfield community members. Mabel Massey was also involved with the Broomfield Historical Society who ran the Depot Museum for many years. Amy Moir and her husband were long-term volunteers of the Veterans Museum. Both were members of the Luthern Church of Hope in Broomfield. Mabel Massey would often knit these blanket shawls for community members, particularly if they were experiencing a stressful life moment.
