Description
Survey Started For Sewer Lines: Work On Laying Of Pipe Lines Scheduled To Begin November 1 When Men Are Available.; SURVEY STARTED FOR SEWER LINES Work On Laying Of Pipe Lines Scheduled To Begin November 1 When Men Are Available Surveys of the city to determine the location and elevation of pipe lines for Lynden's new sewerage system were started this week under the direction of John W. Cunningham, consulting engineer of the firm of Barr and Cunningham of Portland. G. V. Robinson of the firm of Barr and Cunningham will have charge of making the survey and Charles Phoenix of Bellingham will be the instrument man. The survey is expected to be completed about November 1 when W. P. A. crews will begin work on the laying of the sewerage lines. The main sewerage line extending from the river to a central point in the city, probably will be the first pipe line to be laid. Because of the difficulty of construction during the winter months, the disposal plant most probably will not be started until spring. Water Superintendent E. A. Knittel says. The disposal plant will be of concrete construction. The crews are expected to be able to work fairly steadily on laying the pipe lines during the winter months.
