Rosalia Red Cross Grows: Much Work Is Completed By The Members.; Rosalia Red Cross Grows: Much Work Is Completed By The Members. Rosalia, Wash., Jan. 23.—The Red Cross, since starting activities in March, has grown from a membership of 10 to 476. It has completed 1075 separate garments, including 15 complete hospital bed units. Besides this 30 patchwork bedspreads have been made, also 250 dish towels. Of knitted articles 85 sweaters, 83 pairs of socks and four pairs of wristlets have been shipped to headquarters. Fourteen completely equipped comfort kits were sent to Spokane chapter in the spring. Besides each Rosalia boy entering the army or navy has been supplied with a comfort kit. A total of $1700 has been raised from donations, memberships and benefits, approximately $1000 of which has already been expended, leaving a credit of $700 with Spokane chapter. The junior Red Cross was the first one formed in Whitman county, being organized about Christmas. The children have already done splendid work in assisting the Rosalia branch, and the work in this department will be continued. Cooperation, increased interest and a steady growth have been shown in the work from its very inception. The officers are: Mrs. F. J. Wilmer, president; Mrs. H. I. Ellis, vice chairman; Mrs. C. E. Fleming, secretary; Mrs. G. F. Whetsel, treasurer.
