Washcloth with Airplane Design Given to Charles A. Lindbergh

Title

Washcloth with Airplane Design Given to Charles A. Lindbergh

Date

1927

Description

This souvenir washcloth is pink with an airplane design made from white cotton loops. The plane looks like a biplane, but it is supposedly supposed to be the "Spirit of St. Louis." It was factory-made, and it was purchased by Sarah Alice Reed of Cairo, Illinois, in 1927. She gave it to Charles A. Lindbergh at some point, and he gave it to the Missouri Historical Society in 1949.
