Description

Man and woman sit in their beach hut, by fire, under fish smoking rack. She is knitting, with yarn in woven basket. Note from unidentified source: Snohomish Indians on Puget Sound, during the summer in 1905--before and after--erected temporary dwellings on the shore composed of rush mats and pieces of canvas, and hung their salmon catch on beams above a camp fire to be smoked and cured for the winter months.
