Blouse
Date
1900s
Description
Ladies white cotton blouse. It has full-length sleeves that flair out at the bottom. The cuffs have crocheted lace trim that goes up to just below the elbow area. The same lace trim is present around the waistline of the garment and the edges of the folded collar. The collar, in the front, has ruffles made of lace that gather at the front collarbone area. Down the midline, hiding the fabric buttons, are the same ruffles found in the collar. There are decorative lace trim pieces that extend vertically from the armpit area all the way to the waistline. The same lace trim can be found moving vertically down the back of the garment from the top of the shoulders down to the waistline.
