Title

Fiber E before and after dilute caustic soda treatment

Date

1955

Description

The before and after of what take place with Fiber E when treated with a dilute solution of caustic soda. In the rug construction above-which can be produced by knitting or weaving-the long, loose loops at the left show the DuPont Company's newest form of the oldest of manmade fibers-rayon-before finishing, At the right are the same loops which have crimped into a tough pile after the fabric has been finished in dilute caustic.
