Description
Girl Plays After Court Ordeal.; GIRL PLAYS AFTER COURT ORDEAL. By Post-Intelligencer Staff Correspondent. PORT ORCHARD, Dec. 11.— There is a different Peggy Paulos from the one seen in court. When the long day is over, back in her cell, away from crowds and witnesses and juries—away from Leo Hall, Whom she accuses—normal life comes back to her in a measure. She chats and jokes with the matron, Mrs. Matilda Arnett, "Mom," Peggy calls her. Sometimes she gets a finger wave from "Mom," or gives "Mom" one. She crochets and makes neat little Mexican-hat needle books for Christmas gifts. She pastes interminably in her scrap book. Volume 1 is her confession, arrest arraignment and imprisonment and is filled. And often she reads tea leaves fortunes for the jail attaches. She reads for each one the fate the tea leaves tell—but she will not read her own.
