February 14, 1902 The annex of the Duval Hotel providing 2^ additional guest rooms and 16 baths has been completed ahd Chief Clerk Henry 0fNeal said all rooms are filled. The new buildr-ng was erected by Dr Sollace Mitchell* The State Board of Health Vi¬´i^ its annual meeting yesterday in the board's rooms in the Everett Building. Present were Dr E. M. Henry of Tampa, president, Dr J. T. Porter health officer and secretary

Ahaver, general manager* Mrs Alexander Mitchell one of Jacksonville's most prominent women and a founder of St Luke's Hospital, died yesterday morning at her home, ^illa Alexandria • Mrs Alfonso ®ritot will preside at the weekly golf tea this afternoon at the Country Club* Judson Browne will arrive Monday to take charge of the validating bureau of the Union Station of which he has been appointed special agent* February 16, 1902 The Windsor Hotel was formerly opened at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon when little Miss Nat»lie Newell, daughter of Architect Newell, climbed to the tower and pulled the ropes that raised the flags* The guests were welcomed ty Mrs Abbie R* Dodge and Frank T. Cullens, proprietors of the hotel* Bids for rebuilding the county jail opened yesterday by the Board of County Commissioners but action delayed until Thursday. The Board approved a salary of $50 a month for E. F. Gilbert who was commissioned as fish and game warden for Duval County on ^e^ 1 ^ Governor Jennings upon recommendation of the board* Gov* W. P. Durbin of Indiana who was encamped at Panama Park here during the Spanish-American War while commanding an Indiana regiment as colonel, was a visitor in Jacksonville yesterday and made a trip to see the former camp site* George E. Pace formerly in the grocery business with Col H# T, Baya at Bay and Ocean Streets, died yesterday in Starke which he founded after leaving Jacksonville in 1872*
