Franz O. Nelson poses for a photograph with his gun and several ducks killed on a shoot. With his arm extended, he holds the barrel of his gun in his left hand with butt of the gun resting on the ground. His right arm is bent as he lets a strap with several tethered ducks dangle in front of him. The ducks hang from cords and hover just above the ground. Franz wears a hat, a knit cardigan and boots. He also has a pipe hanging out of the left side of his mouth. He stands in the middle of an empty, grassy landscape. Behind him and to the right, there is a wooden shack and a fence made of wire and wood.
