Description

It would be easy to catch a weasel asleep as to catch a Flemish woman idle. Young & old, they are always at work and when there is neither household nor ordinary work to do they always have the knitting to fall back on.
A. Laby
A woman leads an elderly woman who is blind through the streets. The woman leading is knitting. Both wear wooden clogs. Text: Price threepence- with supplement. The Pictorial World. An Illustrated Weekly Newspaper. Saturday, Dec. 18th, 1875.
