United States Army issue man's white cotton knit undershirt with quarter-length sleeves and a crew neck. The collar is stamped "38". Also stamped on the bottom front is "NORTHWESTERN KNITTING CO. / APRIL 19, 1918 / QUARTERMASTER / DEPOT, CHICAGO." A paper tag stapled to the shirt has "722.233:308 / NWI" written on it.
