Description
Interior of a classroom in the McTyeire School for Girls, Shanghai. The classroom is western looking, wooden walls with blackboards, and rows of wooden desks facing a teachers desk in front of the blackboards. The students, teenage girls, practice writing at their desks and on the blackboards. The girls wear long braids, smocks and pants; many also wear knitted shawls. The school was founded in 1892 by American Methodist Missionaries.
