This illustration is part of a series of sketches by Orrick that show different ways to wear "acrobat's leotards" or "tights". According to text that is related to this series of sketches, the ensemble shown here includes close-knit cotton jersey tights and a coordinating top, worn underneath a short belted tunic with leather pouches attached at the proper right hip. This illustration was possibly commissioned by Harper's Bazaar, which featured a series of similar illustrations by Orrick in their January 1943 issues on page 35.
