Description
Strap and front components of an Ojibwe bandolier bag given to Herbert McDuffee in 1920 by the White Earth Nation recognizing him as a comrade-in-arms. Rectangular carrying strap (A) has multi-colored floral and foliage beadwork on a white fabric ground, bound with forest green knit binding and backed with gray cotton fabric. Rectangular front of bag (B) has a similar beadwork design on white ground, framed on three sides by black velvet with double rows of white beads arranged in triangles. Front component is trimmed with faceted blue and white beads and wool yarn fringe at bottom and is backed with glazed olive drab cotton with hooks for hanging.
