Description

A child sits on the stoop outside of a doorway and a bicycle can be seen leaning against the building. The Western Knitting Mills factory was built in 1896 and produced knitted goods until 1939. The building was later owned by the McAleer Manufacturing Company, later known as the Higbie Manufacturing Company, and then ITT Higbie. In 1994 the Rochester Mills Beer Company restored the building and it now operates as a restaurant and brewery. Addressed to Mrs. J. A. Power of Addison, Michigan from Addie Ayren.
