Description

Slow pans of the neighborhood to be demolished for the Sumner Field Homes Project. Houses and yards are rundown, in disrepair or boarded up. Glimpses of residents, automobiles and some businesses, including the Minneapolis Knitting Works. (0-7:59) Neighborhood boys playing football and mugging for the camera. (8:00-8:29) Workmen arrive to begin dismantling houses. (8:30-9:20) Slow pan again of houses and buildings to be demolished. Note numbers on buildings. (9:21-10:23) Slow pan of neighborhood from an elevated position, possibly the Minneapolis Kitting Works. Note streetcar at 12:09-18. (10:24-12:38) Stacks of lumber salvaged from demolished houses line the streets. Footage of workmen loading trucks and dismantling houses.
