This woman wears modest old-fashioned dress, and is most likely a widow (as marked by her black kerchief). Her sleeveless jacket appears to be of knitted home-grown wool. Field notes read: "Every female from the oldest Baba to tots of three years were in traditional costume. This woman was wearing a long linen shirt which reached to her ankles. The girls all had theirs trimmed with had crocheted lace. Over this is worn the Macedonian jelik (vest), the long stiff vest of fine wool decorated rather hideously with ribbons and braid. Then comes a narrow woven sash, a bright woolen apron with black and red predominating, large yellow kerchief." See mufs001-xn-i0991 for alternate view.
