Fox, Whoopi Goldberg deserved the most improved dresser award for her figure-flattering black knit dress, worn with dainty petals." The 58th Academy Awards were held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on March 24, 1986. Goldberg was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Celie Johnson in the film "The Color Purple" and presented the award for Best Film Editing. Fox presented the award for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration with Rebecca De Mornay.
