Description
Two long cords, unadorned except with pendants at either end. Pendants consist of multi-colored beads, one side holding red feather tufts. Dr. Newton says that these were obtained from and made by Kokoti Maria Joana, a 71 y/o female. Used, and sold as an incomplete set. The feathered cord is not here. knee cord - mekai; square cord made with single strand -- kangubodi . cord is square cordage (cross section) made from a single strand, crochet. Cord is 2z cotton. Pendants are glass beads and macaw feathers. Newton field photograph: color slide B7.14 and 15. A 10 y/o girl wears this set of kneecords; demonstration of tying on; she is also wearing her bead bandoliers (not in collection) called ko?krechi, also ko?krechi apapi. Price paid: beads.
