Description

I inherited this simply constructed spool holder from my Mother-in-Law in 1994. Dorothy was an accomplished seamstress and frugal farm wife. She sewed clothes for her three children while they were young, and also did alterations to keep them looking fit. The spool holder consisted of two discs, 7-inch and 6-inch in diameter, held together with a 2-inch post. Overall, it was 2.5 inches tall. The top disc has 13 pegs which held the thread spools; the lower disc holds 17 spools.
