Description

Left pattern: Straight coat of slate blue wool with narrow inset sleeves, slash pockets at each hip, and slits up each side. Lined with gray-blue fabric and buckled at the waist. Cuffs trimmed with gray-blue fabric, and finished with an attached scarf of gray-blue and slate blue. Accessorized with a slate blue stocking cap. Center pattern: Straight coat of black wool cloth with narrow inset sleeves, side panels, and applied pockets at each hip. Coat is buttoned at the waist and fastens at the left shoulder. Accessorized with a red scarf and matching stocking cap. Right pattern: Ski suit in beige jersey with a high neck collar that buttons at the throat. Stocking cap, jumper, gloves, and stockings are knit with a beige and brown pine needle design. Figure is shown wearing skis and holding ski poles. Suzanne Talbot was a well-known French milliner. The artistic director of Les Idees Nouvelles is G.P. Joumard.
