Description
464 November 18 - Sunday - 8:30 P.M. My Dearest Darling: It was good to hear from both Jean and Dana that Language Men are to be removed from the critical list on Jan. 1st tho Dec. 1st would have been even better. I guess we’re at the mercy of [BuPas?], and all will depend on whether they will give you the benefit of the month, so that you can get home around Christmas time. I'm so impatient to know if you will be home for Christmas, because if you are, there are so many extra little things I’d like to do in preparation. Oh well, you should know one way or the other soon, and if you can stand the suspense, I guess I can too. I was glad to hear from Jean [pg 2] and to learn that I’d timed my letter so well. I do hope we can see the Mays and Fran before we leave the coast. Today I shortened a dress, fixed two nighties and a slip, and puttered around outside most of the morning with Wendy. Grammy asked us over this afternoon to help her with a crochet pattern. And so another Sunday is gone by - I'm going to try and go over to Del Monte this week and see the gynecologist over there. Among other things I want to find out when he thinks I'll be in best condition to have another baby, and whether a year more or less will make any difference as far as the ease of delivery is concerned. I think I’d like us to start another baby [pg 3] about a year from February, but that will depend on a number of things. A few days ago, I would have been ready to start one on the spot, after watching Wendy, unobserved, completely entranced with a tiny baby in its carriage - her eyes bigger than ever, as she took it all in from her stroller. By the time you get this letter Doug and Valerie will be married. They have pushed their wedding up to the 23rd and the ceremony will take place at 5:00 P.M. Its to be a small wedding with just family and close friends. I don't know their address, so will send a telegram to Jefferson Ave. from the three of us. M. is sending your coat lining out - also slacks, saddle shoes etc. I can't wait to have you in civilian [pg 4] clothes, even if its just around the house. Do you realize it must be about two years since you last dressed up for me? Its going to be such fun to go with you to pick out a whole new wardrobe - one thing I have my heart set on is a wool gabardine suit - do you agree? Last night I put myself to sleep thinking about your welcome home present - of course you can't guess what it is! 'Nuf or I'll tell you about my nightie too! Hurry home - you know I'm no good at keeping secrets - you've got two sweeties all ready to give you lots of loving - Goodnight darling - I do love you- Bobby
