Description

Black leather rectangular work box holding sewing and crochet tools. Pink fabric interior. The interior of the lid has needles, hooks, handles, and other sewing and needlework tools held by leather loops. Inside box is a quilting tool used for marking fabric and an empty wooden spool for thread. The inside back of the case holds a mirror that can slide out for use - mirror is broken. Originally two black leather handles on each side of box, but one has broken off. Found inside work box are two notes: handwritten is "This work box was given to [unreadable] by Baba during their engagement" anda typed note reading "#1371a Work box ca 1850 Donated by Catherine H. Moore."
