A Note from the Contributor

Maria C. Vallejo: One Inch Squares. This quilt is needle-art perfection at its best. I paid a hefty price for her two quilts. Today, as I look at a photo of the mastery of her labor of love I can see how carefully she placed and hand-stitched, every square inch to create an almost so incredible and perfect and harmonious balance of color. Her husband was a truck driver, and while he was not home, she paid homage to the skill she had learned as a child from her grandmother. If we take a minute to look at it carefully, there are twelve stitches in every square inch, so amazing!
